Last Updated: 5/8/2020

Click here for an absentee ballot application: Absentee Ballot Request

For the June 23 Primary Election, you may submit an absentee application via email to [email protected], fax to 607-687-6348, or mail to:

Tioga County Board of Elections
1062 State Route 38
PO Box 306
Owego, NY 13827

Additionally, you may request an absentee ballot via telephone by calling our office at 607-687-8261. Every voter who is eligible to vote in the June 23 Primary will also be receiving an absentee ballot application in the mail with a postage-paid return envelope.

If you choose to vote absentee due to the risk of COVID-19, choose “temporary illness or physical disability” as the reason. Otherwise choose the reason that is most appropriate for your situation.

Applications returned by mail must be postmarked by June 16, 2020 to be accepted for the primary election.

Remember, in NYS, to vote in a primary election you must be enrolled in the political party holding that primary.

UPDATE 5/8/20: PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 202.28, "all absentee ballot applications already mailed or completed that purported to select a ballot for the general election or to request a permanent absentee ballot shall in all cases only be valid to provide an absentee ballot for any primary or special election occurring on June 23, 2020."

IF YOU REQUIRE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT FOR ANY ELECTION AFTER JUNE 23, A SEPARATE APPLICATION WILL BE REQUIRED AND WE RECOMMEND YOU WAIT UNTIL JULY BEFORE SUBMITTING SUCH APPLICATION.
